As the founding CEO of ZamBantu Logistics Inc and Chief Operating Officer of its Zambian Subsidiary, Dr. Emmanuel Acheta guides the company’s vision, builds strategy with heart, and co-leads operations that connect cargo with community.
He brings over 15 years of business experience across multiple industries—including leadership in the non-profit sector—he has consistently advanced sustainability and strategy initiatives. He contributed to exploratory and planning-phase of ESG Upstarts, helping establish knowledge bases, processes, and client-facing strategies. Previously, he served as a Senior Associate at a North American global ESG firm on the Corporate Benchmarking team.
His doctoral research focused on strengthening Environmental and Social risk standards, known as the Equator Principles, not only in one of Africa’s largest copper mines but also more broadly for global mining operations, financial institutions, project sponsors, and project-affected communities.
He has also contributed to the United Nations Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System.
A proud alumnus of the University of Waterloo, he holds a PhD in Social and Ecological Sustainability (Policy & Governance), an MBA in Financial Management from the Lazaridis School of Business, and a B.Com (Hons) from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda.
When he is not thinking and reading about Logistics, the gospels and about apostle Paul, his heart and mind are in “ESG and its ecosystem”, in environmental charities, football (soccer)—with no particular team of interest. He loves watching figure skating, and listening to gospel music. With his “God’s greatest gifts”—his wife and two daughters—they live in the beautiful, “coolest” rural Southwestern Ontario.
“For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known – Paul of Tarsus”
